The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect last month, and ___ has created an infographic covering 55 things data handlers should know about GDPR. According to the company, “There is no doubt that the cloud allows us to cross technological, geographical and administrative borders, ensuring the availability, accessibility and sharing of data. However, it also drives an important range of threats. One of the biggest problems that arises around this infrastructure is that personal data are processed in the cloud, so security and IT teams have no perception or control over what happens with them. When companies can not limit the use of cloud services by their employees, it can mean that sensitive data could end up in the wrong hands, exposing the entire business ecosystem accordingly.”
