Dr. Mark Cooper, founder and principal at The Data Brains, has more than 30 years of experience in data and analytics, including as technical director at FedEx Services with a primary focus on enterprise data architecture and analytics. His passion is driving business action through the use of data. He has recently partnered with John Ladley on the Rock Bottom Data Feed, an irreverent yet practical data-focused podcast that isn’t a pile of technobabble and repetition of old advice, with a target audience of everybody because everybody is involved with data.

Mark began his career as a data warehouse developer and later transitioned to enterprise architect. His contributions and innovations have been recognized with the highest individual and corporate team awards, industry awards, and a U.S. patent. He has presented at conferences around the world, published four books, and served as technical editor on two others. Mark earned his B.S. from Duke University in Computer Science and Chemistry and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA where his concentration was Artificial Intelligence.
