A new press release reports, “Alteryx, Inc., a leader in self-service data analytics, today announced Alteryx Connect, a data exploration platform that empowers users to discover and collaborate on data assets, visualizations, reports and workflows typically siloed across large enterprises. With Alteryx Connect, users can easily find curated data and relevant information from both Alteryx-connected data and other data sources – ultimately decreasing time to insight. As organizations become more data-driven, it is critical for business analysts performing self-service data analytics to use governed and trusted data sources. With Alteryx Connect, organizations can capture the tribal knowledge about data that has spread across an organization and present this knowledge back to business users so they can begin the analytics process using the best sources of information.”
The release goes on, “When available, Alteryx Connect will be an add-on to the Alteryx Server product. This is an outgrowth of the Alteryx acquisition of Semanta earlier this year, which specialized in meta data management and governance. ‘With Alteryx Connect, we’re bringing more of the thrill of discovery to analytics, truly merging the human experience with analytic models to help organizations make smarter decisions,’ said Alteryx CEO Dean Stoecker. ‘While automation has brought efficiencies to industries for hundreds of years, people drive innovation. We are creating this offering to better enable analysts to connect with colleagues within their own ecosystem and reduce the time spent searching for relevant data in a vast sea of disparate sources’.”
