Enterprise Data Management Practitioner
Profile: Jay Zaidi, is an versatile, hands-on, and results-oriented leader with proven success in Enterprise Data Management, Strategic Planning, and Program Management. He introduced the term “Holistic Data Quality (HDQ)” to the industry and developed the “HDQ Framework” to proactively monitor and remediate data quality issues across an organization’s information supply chain, to facilitate stronger data governance and accountability. He has implemented enterprise solutions based on the HDQ Framework at Fannie Mae, to address compliance, risk, audit and operational challenges.
Experience: During a professional career spanning more than 15 years, Jay has conceptualized and led several data management, business transformation and change management programs. He is very versatile, having worked in Management Consulting, Financial Services, and Healthcare domains in various technology and advisory roles, across Europe, Asia and North America.
Career History: Jay began his career as a Senior Programmer Analyst at The DOW Chemical Company’s World Headquarters, designing, building and enhancing healthcare information systems utilized across DOW’s North American facilities. He then transitioned into an Oracle Practice lead role at a privately held consulting firm, growing the practice to a staff of twenty consultants and bringing in multi-million dollar revenues. After spending four years in that role, he moved to a Management Consulting and Advisory role at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he led Oracle ERP and Supply Chain projects, consulted on large Oracle implementations, and assisted in business development activities. He subsequently served as a Solution Architect at Commerce One Global Services and has spent the last ten years as a leader in the Enterprise Data Management practice at Fannie Mae. Jay has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, a Masters in Computer Science from Texas A&M and is currently pursuing a Masters in Technology Management at the Johns Hopkins University.
Speaking Engagements: Jay is a frequent speaker on data management, data quality management, data governance and business intelligence. He recently gave a presentation titled “Enterprise Data Quality Dashboard and Alerts – Holistic Data Quality” at the 2011 Data Governance Winter Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
