A new press release out of the company reports, “Neura, a company whose artificial intelligence (AI) improves lives, today introduced a comprehensive solution that enhances mobile apps and devices designed to reduce medication non-adherence, a $300 billion problem in the United States alone with life-threatening consequences. When integrated with medication management apps and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, Neura’s advanced software as a service (SaaS) intuitively adapts to each user’s unique needs, helping them change their behavior, follow doctor’s orders more closely, and build healthier habits. By tapping into the insights generated by Neura, apps can better understand the user and communicate at moments when the user is most likely to act. The result is increased adherence and improved general wellness.”

The release goes on, “Custom-tailored, perfectly-timed calls to action can help patients stay on track and avoid the dangers of non-adherence. The CDC reports that nearly 50 percent of Americans take prescription medications for one or more chronic illnesses like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and asthma. An estimated three out of four Americans fail to take their medications as directed, sometimes with grim results. According to a partnership of physicians and pharmaceutical companies, a 17-percent increase in U.S. emergency room visits and a 10-percent growth in hospital admissions can be attributed to poor medical adherence each year, along with approximately 125,000 deaths.”
