These are called advantageous organizational analytic capabilities in that a clear ROI is demonstrable from these efforts. Turns out that there are a number of prerequisites to advantageous organizational analytics. These include:

About the Speakers
Dr. Burd is an expert in applying analytics to address the performance and security issues of organizations in the private and public sectors. Her consulting firm, Ansec Group, provides research and solutions for healthcare, retail, finance and higher education organizations. She acquired extensive experience in providing assessment services (PCI DSS, PA-DSS, ISO 27002) while Director of Risk Mitigation at igxglobal. She was the Executive Director of a research study funded by the U.S. Department of Justice to assess information security in academic institutions, and as a management consultant with Ernst & Young Consulting in Sydney, Australia she designed, sold and led projects in e-Commerce and strategy. Her formal education is in applied statistical analysis (Ph.D., Columbia University, 1998) and biology (B.A., University of Chicago, 1988). She presents at conferences, is the author of over ten articles, and has been featured in over forty popular press journals for her research initiatives.
Peter Aiken, Ph.D., is widely acclaimed as one of the top ten data management authorities worldwide. As a practicing data consultant, author and researcher, he has been actively performing in and studying data management for more than 30 years. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions and consulted with more than 50 organizations in 20 countries across numerous industries, including defense, banking, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing. He is a highly sought-after keynote speaker and author of multiple publications, including his latest books “Monetizing Data Management” and “Making the Case for the Chief Data Officer”. Peter is the Founding Director of Data Blueprint, a data management consulting firm that puts organizations on the right path to leverage data for competitive advantage and operational efficiency. He is also Associate Professor of Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University and past President of the International Data Management Association (DAMA).
