Kilian Thiel, Senior Data Scientist, KNIME
Kilian Thiel works as a senior data scientist at KNIME in Berlin, Germany. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Konstanz, which focused on network analysis and text mining. During his work as a research assistant at the Nycomed Chair for Bioinformatics and Information Mining he was majorly involved in the EU FP7 BISON project working in the fields of network analysis and spreading activation. The objective of the project was to induce new insights and support creative thinking via methods of information mining. In his professional capacity as a data scientist he was responsible for clustering, predictive analytics, as well as reporting projects. At KNIME.com he has designed and developed various modules for the open analytics platform KNIME, including the text mining extension, which is applied in science and industry. His research interests include text mining, network analysis, and predictive analytics.
